Film: Eastern White Pine - The Tree Rooted In American History

In celebration of Arbor Day we will have a reception of pine needle tea and treats 6:00-6:30 before showing the film 6:30-7:30 with a Q and A to follow with filmmaker Ray Asselin and Susan Masino. This film documents the Eastern white pine tree's central role in the founding and building of America, its logging history, and its current importance to wildlife and humans. Featuring Simsbury's own Belden Forest located behind Simsbury Public Library. This film will answer why the Eastern white pine (Pinus strobus) was at one time the most valuable tree in the world and much more.
