Simsbury Hiking Club Hike

Saturday, August 29, 2026

9:30 a.m. • Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area, 341 Milford St. (Route 69), Burlington

This challenging hike will be a 4.75 mile loop through the woods. After a short visit to the beaver marsh, hikers will backtrack a bit to the blue -with -yellow - dot trail and follow it to the junction with the blue - with - black - dot trail. This circular route eventually returns to the Beaver Pond Trail and the parking lot. The route has flat smooth parts, rocky parts, places where one has to navigate around boulders and one stretch of boulder scrambling. Some parts are steep and some parts follow ledge outcrops. It should take 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on how long we spend at the beaver marsh. Not suitable for young children or dogs.

Bring water and wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots. You may want bug repellant and hiking poles. In the event of heavy rain or dangerous air quality, we will cancel.
