Simsbury Hiking Club Hike

9:00 a.m. • Roaring Brook Nature Center, 70 Gracey Road, Canton

We will step off from the parking lot at Roaring Brook Nature Center, at 9:00 a.m. Most of this walk is reasonably flat with good footing, but there are several seriously hilly sections. We will loop through most of the Nature Center trails, including the adjacent Werner Woods, for a total hike of about three miles. We will have an extra half mile steep hilly loop available at the end for any walkers who remain unsatisfied. This will be an appropriate time to use hiking poles. Walkers who have trouble with steep hills might want to think twice before undertaking this hike. Roaring Brook asks us to use the North parking area, so please bear right after entering the driveway. Bring drinking water, wear good footwear for hiking and dress for the weather.
