Simsbury Hiking Club Hike

Sunday March 29, 2026

9:30 a.m. • Location: Sun, Wind and Woodland Preserve, near 200 Breezy Hill Rd., Collinsville.

It will be a loop of about three miles. It is a hilly wooded area, but the terrain is moderate and does not present any significant footing challenges. Our thought is that we have a decent chance of hearing wood frogs on this walk.

We will start at the parking lot and take the Tom Perry Trail (red) west and south to the Breezy Hill Farm Trail (yellow) which will run east to Breezy Hill Road. Across the road we will pick up the Sweeton Trail (yellow) which will take us north to a junction with Breezy Hill Road. We will follow that dirt road a short distance northeast and pick up the Sun Wind and Woodland Trail (yellow) which will take us west and south back to the parking lot. You can look at trail map at

Sun, Wind and Woodland Trails – Canton Land Conservation Trust
To get there: from Route 44 in Canton, just before the New Hartford town line, take Indian Hill Road and follow it to its end. Pay careful attention on Indian Hill Road, it winds around a bit and tries to tempt you into taking wrong turns. Indian Hill Road ends at Breezy Hill Road. Turn right and drive about half a mile, past Breezy Hill Farm, to a dirt parking lot on the left. You will see a land trust trailhead kiosk there. On Breezy Hill Road en route to the parking lot you will pass two white land trust trail signs. Ignore them.

Walkers should have drinking water and insect repellent. It is always tick season. Hiking poles will be useful for some.
