Simsbury Land Trust Hiking Club Hike

9:30 a.m. • Location: MDC Reservoir #4. Meet at the parking area off the entrance road at 1420 Farmington Avenue in West Hartford. (This is not the reservoir atop Talcott Mountain on Albany Avenue, Route 44).

Finding walks with safe footing is always a challenge at this time of year, so we plan to take the paved Red Loop the whole way, going past Reservoir #5, part of #3, Dyke Pond and Reservoir # 2. This route is an easy 3.4 miles and had been plowed and sanded when we walked it earlier. Drinking water and appropriate footwear are essential. Hiking poles are an option.
