Simsbury Land Trust protects over 1,100 acres of land. Many of those acres are contigous land acquired over time. Contigous land is great for hiking trails and it is also helpful to animals like these deer to access a variety of vegetation. Deer eat woody plants like sassafras and sumac, forbs like goldenrod and ragweed, fruit like acorns and berries and grasses like switchgrass; all of which are available different times of year in different habitats. In Simsbury many of those habitats are connected because of the intentional work of the Simsbury Land Trust. Let's keep protecting land together.
