Celebrate America's 250th Through the Old Forests of New England 4 Part Film Series

September 17, October 22, November 19, and December 17, 2026

Receptions start at 6:00 p.m. • Simsbury Public Library

This fall, the Simsbury Public Library will host the Fall Old Forest Film Series in celebration of America's 250th anniversary. The series explores the beauty and importance of New England's old-growth forests and is presented in partnership with New England Forests, Real Art Ways, Simsbury Grange, Avon, Canton, Granby, Simsbury and Traprock Ridge Land Trusts, and additional community partners.

Films will be shown one Thursday each month:

September 17, Lost Forests of New England: Eastern Old Growth
October 22, Return of Old Growth Forests
November 19, Old Growth Forests:- Nature's Biotic Water Pump
December 17, Proforestation: Letting Forests Grow Old
