We will be completing a moderately difficult, easy paced, picturesque hike on Simsbury Land Trust’s Tanager Hill trail. The hike will take us up the ridge before connecting to Penwood ascending to the peak of the Talcott Ridge. Hiking poles and hiking boots are highly recommended to safely descend steeper portions of the trail.<\/p>\n

This hike includes moderate elevation change, long uphill sections, and is apt to be wet and muddy in some areas. Milder sections traverse woodlands and open meadows before passing over boardwalks spanning vernal pools and wetlands. The hike is approximately 4 miles (round trip) and will take about 2 hours to complete. There is a parking area available across the street from 137 E. Weatogue St. and on street parking nearby.
