Education and Recreation Planning Meeting
Simsbury Land Trust Office • 10A Phelps Lane (near the intersection of Phelps Lane and Railroad Street) • 7:00 p.m.

This group meets a few times per year to plan SLT educational programs, hikes and other activities including Green Scenes and Dirty Boots Kids Club events. Join us and help plan the fall programs. The meeting is open to everyone, RSVP requested to 860-651-8773 or amyzeiner@aol.com.

Farms, Forks and Frames: An art auction and local farm dinner.
The Riverview in Simsbury • 6:00 to 9:30 p.m.

Join the Simsbury Land Trust and guest auctioneer Bob Maxon for an art auction and local farm dinner! Local artists Catherine Elliott and Deborah Leonard, along with John Johnson and Alexander Anisimov, will be auctioning original paintings. Or select from a variety of silent auction items, including a week in a Tuscan Villa, several guided fishing trips, a week in a condo at Kiawah Island and more.

Tickets are $75.00 per person, and includes dinner and open bar. Contact the Simsbury Land Trust for tickets and additional information, 860-651-8773 or amyzeiner@aol.com.

Green Scenes: A documentary film and discussion series.
Simsbury Public Library • 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Watch interesting and informative documentary films, followed by a discussion with a panel of area experts in the film topics. This series is free for everyone. Films will be announced in September.

Photography Contest

Open to all members of the Simsbury Land Trust

Enter up to 3 pieces in the following categories:

  1. Close-up
  2. Landscape
  3. People in Nature – SLT Activities and Events
  4. Student photographers – any of the above subjects (Students are exempt from the membership requirement.)

Work must be in the form of prints 8 x 10, b/w or color. Entries will not be returned. All work must be clearly marked with your name, address and phone number, along with the category and location of photo. If you have your photos on disc, please submit in addition to the printed copy.

All photographs must be taken on Simsbury Land Trust Properties or at an SLT-sponsored event. See our website’s Properties & Maps section for a map of properties. All winning photographs may be used for promotional purposes by the Simsbury Land Trust. Photographers retain rights to the photograph .Winners will be announced at the Simsbury Land Trust Annual Membership Dinner in early spring. Please submit your entries to: SLT, P.O.
